Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair and upkeep of production machines, power tools, and buildings/facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repair production machines, tools, and equipment as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks for machines and equipment as required.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose machine and equipment problems
- Maintain updated maintenance schedule to ensure maintenance is performed timely.
- Work from and maintain updated maintenance log
- Coordinate preventative maintenance for HVAC, garage doors, sprinkler systems, loading docks, etc. with appropriate outside vendors.
- Perform general building maintenance as needed (examples include but are not limited to repairing or replacing locks, switches, doors, plumbing, light bulbs, etc.).
- Build cabinets, carts, or sawhorses as needed.
- Perform minor vehicle upkeep tasks (replacing bulbs, etc.).
- Operate snow removal equipment and hand shovel, in conjunction with other staff members during the winter
- Perform weed and pest control activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Have knowledge and experience with repairs of electrical tools, equipment, and machines.
- Maintain knowledge of job materials and supplies, including proper uses and applications.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative as appropriate.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to problem solve, research, and troubleshoot issues as they arise to solve the problem in an efficient, timely, and cost-effective manner.
- Ability to prioritize tasks to ensure timely action is taken.
- Must have and maintain a valid and current unrestricted driver's license with a reasonable driving history, (such as no major infractions in the past 5 years).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Card is preferred. (CDL not needed)
- Ability to become forklift and boom lift certified. Prior experience preferred.
- Will require driving a box truck on occasion.
- The position requires the following physical activities on a regular basis; Stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting (75+ lbs. on occasion), grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, handling, and repetitive motions.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, emails, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence via paper and email.
- Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems that arise to ensure a satisfactory outcome.
- Ability to anticipate potential problems and address them appropriately and timely.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Post-secondary training or certification in a related field preferred, or a minimum of 3 years in a related job field.
Work Schedule: 1st Shift: Start time 6:00 AM
(9) hour workdays Monday through Thursday of each week and Four (4) hours on Friday, with flexibility for production and urgent repair needs. Overtime work is required as needed.
